Pretty chuffed reading this piece that I was right about every one of these in the real time of the #DemDebate. Validating.

Fact-Checking the South Carolina Democratic Debate nytimes.com/2020/02/25/us/…
A couple of key points:
▪Warren was right about her claims against Bloomberg, her claims of being more effective than Berrnie on progressive issues and on beating Wall St.
▪Biden was wrong about both Bernie on Cuba and Obama on Cuba. NYT details Obama's support.--->>
▪Buttigieg was correct about Sanders misrepresenting costs of his #M4A plan.(Which doesn't mean we shouldn't have it.)
▪Steyer was wrong when he said he is the only candidate who supports reparations: Warren had a plan for that for years.
▪Biden was right about Bernie on guns.

I have been covering this election since December 2018 when it started.
I have lost count of the number of columns, articles and tweet threads that I've written about how the women candidates were treated by MSM--ignored and made invisible compared to male candidates. 1/
I'm not blaming male candidates for getting more coverage--why wouldn't they embrace all that FREE ad time?
I have been told repeatedly that I was "biased" toward @KamalaHarris. Because I covered her FAIRLY.
As I have all the women candidates (even Williamson and Gabbard.) 2/
And perhaps it means nothing to some or even most of you that @CNNPolitics put up more videos of Biden than of Warren and Klobuchar combined. But it DOES matter. I don't kid myself that people are reading my 1k, 3k, 5k pieces when they can read a tweet and watch a video. 3/

The failure of the MSM to vet white male candidates the way women and BIPOC candidates are vetted is why we are on a trajectory from the most diverse primary in US history to one between three 78yr old white men whose names begin with B. It's journalistic malpractice.
The outrage over Bernie lauding Castro should have been addressed in 2016. I wrote about it then, so it was definitely doable. And between the @60Minutes interview and the #CNNTownHall, Anderson Cooper could have Googled Castro & education and challenged Bernie again. He didn't.
This detailed piece in @TheAtlantic elucidates what Castro was doing with his "education" plan. It was 100% an indoctrination process to build support for the revolution. And it was funded by the Soviet Union--then a Communist megalith.

Four years ago while covering the 2016 election, I wrote this piece about how Bernie Sanders praised Fidel Castro. My story is from the POV of a reporter who covered the AIDS crisis. Castro quarantined PWAs.

Then as now--at a March 2016 debate in Miami--Bernie praised Castro. But Castro was responsible for many AIDS deaths, just like Reagan.
Bernie has never acknowledged what Castro did to people with AIDS or to gay people.

On the corporate press's contorted, pathological refusals to simply & directly call out politicians for "lying." My latest for @FAIRmediawatch.

Case in point: The day of the Mueller indictments, WH @PressSec offered up the boldface lie that they nothing to do with the Trump campaign. (She also claimed they showed Russian collusion by Clinton.)
But instead of calling out Sanders' lies, MSM headlines instead pushed the same WH narrative that pro-Trump, right-wing media did.
