UK Government puts ideological purity above people's lives withdrawing from European cooperation system and refusing permission for Minister to travel to Brussels...
As I've suggested before, the no regulatory alignment no ECJ red lines show a government putting ideology above all else - business, individuals etc - regardless of the decision concerned. Just in case we're 'polluted' by the EU? Reckless and utterly unsustainable.
The UK simply cannot opt out of all cross-European cooperation because the EU is involved, given our citizens live and work in the EU, theirs live and work here, we travel, we trade, etc. Never mind Canada plus, this is heading towards no deal plus.
Now the thread version for @pmdfoster. Here's the thing - our neighbours have chosen to collaborate in a way the current government finds objectionable. Rejecting that may feel virtuous but is going to come with costs. And it cannot be sustainable.
