I am endorsing @BernieSanders for President and encourage my fellow @ewarren supporters to join me.
As a pledged delegate candidate for Warren, this was not an easy decision. But supporting Sanders is now the only path to the big, structural change that Warren champions, 1/
Warren is the best candidate for President I have seen. Her vision of substantive change is sweeping, detailed, & rigorous & responsive. I also believe she has a real plan for implementation. Her campaign has been clever, exciting, and nuanced. 2/
As a delegate candidate, I literally signed a pledge to support Warren. But I can't in good conscience support an unrealistic, undemocratic plan to win a brokered convention w/o a significant bloc of delegates. 3/
Fortunately, there's another candidate promising big, substantive change. @BernieSanders has done more to advance the progressive policies that @ewarren champions than anyone in my life. He's moved our national discourse to the left in a way I never thought possible. 4/
Importantly, @BernieSanders has inspired a generation. Anyone committed to economic & social justice must now see that he's our candidate. The time has come for @ewarren & supporters to suspend her campaign and join Sanders. Today, that is what persisting means. #NotMeUs /end
Wow. So this blew up. I guess I'll take the opportunity to shout out a couple of great, local candidates here in New York.
First up, Joey @DeJesusSaves for NY Assembly in Queens. Joey is a poet & advocate for radical justice. They'd also be the first-ever gender queer legislator in NY (maybe anywhere). Joey's up against big, right-wing money. Please consider giving a bit at secure.actblue.com/donate/friends…
Next, my own Assembly Member @Yuhline Niou. Yuh-Line has been in office for only four years, but she's become one of NY's most important voices for economic, racial & social justice. She has a well-funded challenge this year, and she could use your help. nioufornewyork.com
On our racist system of mass incarceration, pls consider supporting @JanosMarton for Manhattan DA. Janos is a civil rights & anti-corruption lawyer challenging the guy who let Trump Jr. & Harvey Weinstein off the hook while locking up black and brown kids.

Last, as humbly as possible: I'm an elected, volunteer party official up for reelection next year. I'd be honored by any contributions. I promise to continue to use the role to fight for a more progressive & democratic Democratic Party. Thank you. #NotMeUs
