Sanders supporters here never want to admit that Bernie's electability, both at a contested convention and in Nov., is limited by the reality that more Dems loathe him than love him. So I'm gonna poke the tiger and say: Bernie Sanders is not a Democrat.

I'll go further, and say: Sanders isn't even eligible to be the Democratic nominee -- which matters, not bec. the DNC would dare declare him ineligible now, but bec. it helps explain why he has a hard, HARD ceiling, both with convention delegates and with Democratic voters.

We all know Sanders spent most of his career dissing the Dem Party as "ideologically bankrupt," of "greed and vulgarity," proclaiming it would be "hypocritical" for him to run as a Dem. is.gd/CdFYwR

That is, until he realized he needed the party to be prez.

Traditionally, primary candidates don't name a running mate until their nomination is a lock. This makes sense in a multiparty race, when running mate choice may be a bargaining chip at a potentially contested convention.

But when it comes down to only two nominees, one of whom is certain to enter the convention with a clear majority, there's no reason not to create a ticket now.

That's especially the case when the two finalists are 77 and 78 years old, and one of them has suffered a heart attack that, statistically, gives him a median life expectancy of just 3.1 years.

Last night wasn't about progressive versus centrist policies. It was about personalities. Bernie Sanders has always openly reviled Democrats. Last night, Democrats returned the compliment.

I am a Progressive. I endorse Progressive policy goals. I want a Progressive nominee, and then a Progressive president. And we COULD have had a progressive nominee! America's ready for it!

But the nominee will be Joe Biden.

Apologies in advance for the angst, but I was thinking too hard about what would happen if, early on, when Hank still very much hated Connor, Con got himself into a Bad Situation all alone.

Hank's at the bar, still trying to drink to forget, freshly pissed that he's forced
to work with his new android partner. No, not even that, because a thing /can't/ be a partner. Connor is getting on his nerves hard. They've clashed over their approach, over Hank's drinking, over Connor's stupid pushiness and manufactured innocence, as fake as the rest of him.
Connor mostly still struggles with understanding Hank, but he's growing to understand/himself/ a bit better, and he knows he's intrigued, and even likes Hank a bit, when he's not being an ass or ignoring Connor or the case they're supposed to be on.

He knows it's not mutual.

Hank, the grumpy shepherd living in a cottage in the mountains in self-imposed exile, tending to his many, many sheep and his very large dog.
Connor, the vagabond that twists his ankle traipsing carelessly through his fields during a rainstorm.
The storm is not at its peak yet. The sheep are huddled a little closer, some of them seeking the shelter of trees and shrubbery, but the worst clouds are still far away. Hank sees a brief flash, then thunder rolls what feels like half a minute later.

This awed tone of MSM coverage of #Sanders is so gendered.

Harris and Klobuchar are both daughters of single mothers who had to raise their kids alone after their husbands left the families.
Warren also grew up in a working class family in Oklahoma.

Money was a stress for these women's families as well. Klobuchar has spoken movingly of her family's estrangement from her father, an alcoholic.
But the coverage of these women not only hasn't reflected this awe of their families' struggles, but has been harshly critical.

No one has situated Klobuchar's perfectionism within the well-documented construct of being the child of an alcoholic fighting chaos.

Harris and Klobuchar both had to work harder than their male counterparts to get on their college & career paths, due to their backgrounds.
