I’m a preschool teacher whose husband is immunosuppressed and a stage 4 cancer patient. I was ready to take a 3-month leave of absence from work to protect my husband from #seattlecoronavirus, until I saw his oncologist from SCCA, who is also married to a specialist in 1/x
Infectious Diseases in UW and this is what he said: 1) when the number of confirmed cases of COVID-18 in Seattle has reached 500, that’s when I should take a leave 2/x
2) Be strict about screening children who are going to preschool. Send them home for any cough or colds regardless of how mild 3/x
3) Playdough and sensory table are ok if a) everyone washes their hands upon arrival at the preschool and b) if nobody in the preschool class is sick 4/x #ECE
4)Less restrictive COVID-19 testings have just started today. We expect the number of confirmed positive cases to ramp up very soon. 5/x

My husband’s cancer is stable. Yay!
