If you aren’t supporting, strengthening, encouraging, and building up fathers, you’re not helping your community as much as you might think. If your care about social justice then you’re spending time & $$ on fatherhood. Fathers are social justice. mnpsych.org/index.php%3Fop…
Here’s what a culture of strong, married, virtuous fathers moves toward eradicating: (1) abortion, abortion, abortion, abortion, abortion, and abortion.
(2) prisons and jails, (3) teen drug & alcohol abuse, (4) the need for social workers, (5) low performing schools, (6) suicide, (7) crime, (8) violent aggression, (9) self-centeredness, (10) narcissism, (11) impulsiveness, (12) anxiety and depression, (13) sexual assault,
(14) obesity, (15) hypertension, (16) the existence of gangs, (17) debaucherous college fraternity culture, (18) low performing schools, (19) low test scores, (20) poverty, (21) homelessness, (22) arrogance, (23) greed, (24) racism, and (25) sexism. npr.org/sections/ed/20…
The data is overwhelming, yet you won’t find many churches or non-profits who care about the above 25 issues focussing specifically on building up men. *Why is that?* The solution is to make masculinity great, not to deconstruct it so that boys are confused about why they exist.
The best question you can ask a kid is this: “what kind of parent do you want to be when you grow up?” Fatherhood has been sacrificed on the altar of work & recreation (to “enjoy life” before having kids) & our society is paying the price. Women and children are much worse off.
