My opinions on #WomensRights on this #InternationalWomensDay in this thread.

✳️ It is a fact that women of he world are generally oppressed, sometimes by other women and sometimes by men.

✳️ Also a fact that weak is oppressed by the strong in the world; weak poor oppressed by strong rich, weak Palestinians oppressed by strong Israelis, weak Muslims in India oppressed by strong Hindu nationalists & similarly, the weak women are oppressed by strong men & women.

✳️ It is a responsibility that all humans and Muslims stand up for the rights of the weak against the strong. And hence, we should all do our best to ensure that the rights of the weak women are given to them; to that extent I am a feminist.

✳️ It is also a fact that there is a perverted version of feminism which turns the cause of women rights into an ideological issue of “women equality”; a disastrous ideology that has destroyed the values of human society already and threatening to do so In the Muslim world.

✳️ Allah made men and women as equals in terms of humanity. He also made even independent so as to turn a crowd of humans into a society that functions because both men and women need each other.

✳️ The basic pillar of an Islamic society is a family which starts when a man and women tie into the bond of marriage. Allah also gave a set of rules to make this institution work.

Men and women are given different set of roles, responsibilities and hence the authorities.

✳️ The institution of family works in Islam because there is a single Head of this institution and that is the husband. If the side note demand equality in this authority then this institution cannot and will not work.

Here is when feminism becomes perverted and dangerous.

✳️ Please note, the roles of husband and wife in a family are not inferior or superior to each other; they are just different.

The ultimate honour and purpose of a woman odd to accept the decree of Allah and the ultimate dishonour and distance would be to challenge it.

✳️ The other issue where feminism gets perverted when it equates emancipation of women with vulgarity, fashion, clothes, garments or work.

These are unrelated; its choice of a woman to wear Hijab or bikini; be a house wife or work; nothing to do with “emancipation.”

✳️ The woman CEO of a multinational company might be the most oppressed and abused and a hijab-observing honourable house wife and mother of four who spends most of her time supporting her husband and trying to bring up her children might be the most emancipated one.

✳️ Islam provides a dressing code, talking code, walking code, working code; a code 4 every aspect of life 4 all Muslims, men & women; how much we observe this code makes us a good or bad Muslim.

Every Muslim wants to go to heaven and hence we want to observe these codes.

✳️In my opinion, perverted feminism is hence a threat to all Muslims generally and women specifically. By equating the Islamic code with “oppression of women”, it threatens to drive us all towards the wrath of Allah.

Another reason for my opposition to perverted feminism.

✳️ The right of women that we all need to fight for, are their inheritance rights, their rights at work place & ensuring justice in all crimes against women, be those harassment, rape, physical abuse or objectification.

Being a Muslim, I would like to call it Islamic feminism.

✳️ I therefore support Islamic feminism and oppose perverted feminism.
