Immigration courts and USCIS offices are completely unprepared and unequipped to respond to ANY health related issues much less a pandemic.
Dont even start me on detention facilities or CBP secondary inspection.

A friend from OPLA told me that when she raised concerns w deputy was told to 'pray we'd get alive through this shit' but was that she cannot wear a mask in court 'under no circumstances'.

Now, if you never been in immigration court, the courtrooms are not the swanky large modern auditorium-like marvels you may have seen on tv or visiting a new courthouse. Nooo. They are windowless, dark, (often moldy) small rooms w not enough benches to hold the massive masters...

... calendar cases summoned for the day. Respondents and counsel are packed like sardines on the wooden benches with hordes of ppl waiting in small waiting rooms or corridors. Flu spreads like wild fire in there every year.

Every few years we hear about an outbreak in an immigration detention facility for diseases you would think have been eradicated or for which there are vaccines. Medical screening or hell! medical care is non-existent in immig detention. Healthy people get in & leave few ...

... months later barely being able to walk. And for those immigrants with chronic conditions, immigration detention is often a death sentence.

This system -- designed to churn deportation & inflict max pain the process -- cannot handle #CoronavirusOutbreak!!!

Sadly it is probably a matter of time before we start hearing the atrocious news.
