These are the key messages they need to hear, and they have little time left. It is the time to act, and it is past the time to remain silent. This outbreak isn't going to magically disappear on its own. If you think otherwise, you are badly misinformed.

3/ Don't misunderstand what happened in China and what has happened in Hong Kong and Singapore. #COVID19 does NOT fade away on its own. The reason it receded in China is because they took extraordinary measures. You can read the WHO report: who.int/docs/default-s….
South Korea also has taken extraordinary steps to test its citizens (more than 222,000 tested to date). South Korea has a population of 51M. An equivalent effort in the US would equal 1.4 M tested.
Italy is really struggling right now and time will tell if the extraordinary efforts now being employed will mitigate the outbreak. A lot of eyes are watching and hoping they are successful.
4/ If you think the Chinese health care system was backward, please reconsider. The Chinese built hospitals, rendered test results overnight, enforced quarantine sanitaire with drones & loudspeakers, and made life & death triage decisions that might make Americans uncomfortable.
The US and Europe are less than two weeks behind Italy. We should be learning from the experiences of China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Italy. If we fail to learn from them, we do so at our own peril. History will remember what we don't do at this critical moment.
