#ImWithBernie. The MHRA could approve drugs solely for the UK market before Brexit, so it was possible to avoid the EMA. Also, MHRA legislation was changed to prepare for 'no deal'. Any Brexit medical supply chain issues aren't a problem if your government is prepared to airlift.
If a solution is developed in the EU on standards we haven't agreed to mutually recognise, there is nothing stopping parliament passing legislation to unilaterally recognise. Our regulations should be pretty much identical. We aren't throwing the current regulations away.
People may have misgivings about the government's approach, but it is not being driven by a lack of medical regulations or the lack of a medical regulator.
