THREAD: Yesterday, the UCP government were unable to answer questions about how they will help Albertans through the #COVID19AB pandemic. Today, I am providing our questions in advance in the hope that it gives them a chance to provide real answers to Albertans. #ableg

➡️Can the Premier tell us what conditions he believes must be met before to declare a provincial emergency?
➡️If the Premier declares a state of emergency, what additional powers would be granted to the Government?
➡️Premier, if not now, when? #ableg

➡️Will the Government of Alberta provide income support to those Albertans NOT covered by EI?
➡️Will the Government of Alberta top up EI?
➡️Will the Government of Alberta also ensure EI will be provided to parents, laid off workers, and small business owners? #ableg

➡️Premier, will your government immediately ban evictions and rent hikes??
➡️Will you ban utility rate hikes and utility shut offs until this pandemic is over?
➡️Will you any evictions of businesses until this crisis has been resolved? #ableg

➡️If #COVID19AB spreads and we see thousands of Albertans require hospitalization, have you made plans to take over hotels? How many? In which locations? And how many additional beds total will that provide? #ableg

➡️I am hoping for some specifics I have seen your letter to the Prime Minister stating you are seeking 90,000 swabs, 500,000 N95 masks and 600,000 face shields. Why do we need such large orders? Are we short hundreds of thousands of masks and face shields? #ableg

➡️What steps have you taken otherwise to secure these vital supplies?
➡️What steps are you taking to add doctors and other front-line healthcare workers to our ranks during this public health crisis? #ableg

➡️Premier, what steps are you taking to protect Alberta’s transportation corridors?
➡️What steps is the gov taking to protect drivers and warehousers and what contingency plans are in place to maintain Alberta’s trucking and freight handling workforce? #ableg

➡️What is the current status of driver training and testing in Alberta, and what contingency plans he has to limit testing if the pandemic intensifies? #ableg

➡️What new mental health supports are being provided to students during this pandemic?
➡️How will gov provide support to these students while they continue their education at home during this pandemic? #ableg

➡️How will the Minister of Education redeploy the resources of the School Nutrition Program to make sure these kids don’t go hungry while they attempt to continue their education? #ableg

➡️What steps are being taken to support artists and what programs are available to those not able to support themselves at this time?
➡️How will these workers be supported by the Government and receive financial help to make ends meet during this pandemic? #ableg

➡️What steps are being taken to support Temporary Foreign Workers and how that information is being distributed to TFWs in Alberta? #ableg

➡️When will shelters might have a contingency plan in place.
➡️Will the Premier or Minister commit to holding a conference call or meeting with shelter leaders and directors, today? #ableg

➡️What resources will be available for Alberta’s Food Banks?
➡️Will the Minister commit to a conference call today with the heads of all Food Banks to best understand and address any concerns they might have? #ableg

➡️Will the Minister commit to making April AISH and income support payment early to ensure that Albertans have the funds to properly care for themselves and their families? #ableg

➡️What new supports will be made available for our agricultural producers during this crisis?
➡️How is the gov keeping farmers informed of developments and what is the plan should border closures impact the bottom lines of Alberta farms? #ableg

➡️What is the advice for farmers in self-isolation and how is the Government planning to help them tend to their farms? #ableg

➡️What steps are you taking to ensure seniors continue to have access to reliable transportation, housing, food, drugs, and urgent health care needs?
➡️How is gov planning to address the needs of seniors and specifically low income seniors during this pandemic? #ableg

➡️What current protections are in place in seniors homes and for seniors in long-term care. Can you please outline the steps that you are taking and what additional resources are available for these seniors in your updated budget? #ableg

➡️What are you doing to help women, in particular, who may be impacted during this time?
➡️What measures is the gov putting in place to support these front-line health and service workers, many of whom are women, that are a growing labour force here in Alberta? #ableg

➡️Please share what steps are being taken to ensure that there will be support in place for women, specifically, during and after the coronavirus pandemic. #ableg
