As for the @BrugesGroup, what part of unprecedented global emergency do they not understand? If you can't put your obsessive puritan ideology to one side at this time then I think you lose any right to any influence. And yes the same applies to rejoiners.
There are hundreds of issues currently more pressing for the UK government than Brexit. Beyond the obvious they include an exacerbated social care crisis, a court system struggling to function, kids potentially missing out on months of education. These must be the priorities.
Brexiteers, you've had your Brexit. We're not in the EU any more. The referendum result has been discharged. There was and will be again a time to argue about our future relations with the EU. Pretty obviously in the midst of a pandemic is not the time.
And it isn't even the trade talks that are the biggest issue for Brexit right now. It is the need for the complete restructuring of the UK regulatory system outside of the EU and with Northern Ireland treated differently to GB. There is no bandwidth.
There's a good reason why pandemic disaster movies don't feature folk saying "yes the pandemic is terrible but shouldn't we just focus on this completely different thing?" It wouldn't be credible.
The Labour Party has stopped campaigning. The Conservative Party has stopped campaigning. Overdue remainers and Brexiteers also stopped, along with the talks that will be stopped. They'll be back. But for now focus on what is critical. /end
