GRATITUDE: The first thing I stashed in my #StayHome survival kit was gratitude, a lot of it.

Gratitude is the ultimate fear slayer.

Every morning, I spend a few minutes thinking of all the things I’m grateful for.
HOPE IS THE THING WITH FEATHERS: When @AriadneLabs and @Asaf_Bitton asked me to compile what I’m doing to inspire others while I #StayHome I thought about the little boy across the country I sent a clip of wild parrots that visit me every morning & afternoon.

Hope is the thing🦜
HOME IS WEAR THE HEART IS: With my children coming home early from college, I put together a bourgie survival kit: Asian food, Indian food, camping stove with extra butane, Urth, Jones & Groundwork coffee, infrared thermometer etal. They’re with their dad and we all #StayHome💜🙏🏼
BE OF SERVICE: Keeping banker hours working from home in a job where I can be of maximum service.

Decided to be of service to my boyfriend lol, who’s holed up with me: shower each morning, do nails, wear fresh clothes.

Might even turn video “on” when telecommuting lol #StayHome
CLEAN MACHINE: Before work day begins, I’ve done the dishes, mopped floors, folded laundry and made breakfast. Keeping normalcy has helped the #StayHome lifestyle.

My boyfriend even relaxed the “twinning” rules so out came the matching @jcrew flannels.
HIKING: After work hours, we’ve been hitting a nearby hiking trail. Excersize helps offset any potential #StayHome blues.
STAY CONNECTED: Calling friends, attending online meetings, checking in with family, trying to be of service by just asking how others are doing. #StayHome
PROJECTS: Shakespeare wrote his best sh*t during the plague. This is not my best sh*t lol.

Nevertheless, there are worse ways to spend two hours on a rainy Sunday. #StayHome
DONATE: Those who are able to may want to consider putting the money they’re not spending going out toward supporting NGOs, arts organizations, political candidates, etc. #StayHome
REALITY CHECK: My sciency boyfriend is mathematically trained and we began viewing this chart daily on February 8. He calmly told me the facts, how it would spread and we began taking precautions. #StayHome

PANDEMIC CRAFTING: Turns out making our own hand sanitizer was fun. #StayHome
ANGELS ARE EVERYWHERE: We need good news, heroes and uplifting stories during such a serious time. #StayHome and tweet about angels.
BARTER: Just as in war, scarcity is a thing. Three years ago, I met my Resistance bestie on this platform: a woman so smart, I don’t make any big decisions without her pov. Last week, we did the drop.
FEAR SLAYING: When that ol devil fear shows up, my boyfriend holds me and abates it with calm fact-based reassurances.

When fear shows up while he’s sleeping, I start praying my ass off for creeper Trump & black-hearted Putin, praying they’re relieved of their spiritual maladies
MEAL PLANNING: We’ve been slouching toward veganism (I have carve-outs) and meal planning’s become a thing. Dials down going to the market and increases the leftovers. I’m an #instantpot groupie. #stayhome
PMA: Another fear-slaying technique is staying close to those espousing positivity.
STEVE PLAYS BANJO: #StayHome and listen to @SteveMartinToGo on banjo, cuz angels are everywhere xo
SMILE: Social distancing doesn’t mean you have to be a monster. A smile from six feet away still has impact. #StayHome
MUSIC: Last night, a classically trained neighbor was serenading the street with opera, drawing everyone to their windows. It was a moment. #StayHome
DATE NIGHT: Take off the jammies and put on your suits and gowns. Light the candles and have a date night. #StayHome
MORNING GRATITUDE: Gratitude, being the ultimate fear slayer, is good first thing in the morning. This morning, we came up with 20 things to be grateful for before our feet hit the floor. I also start every Sunday morning with @mariashriver “Sunday Paper”.

RADICAL EMPATHY—A prayer from @mariashriver💜

Dear God—please help me see this moment as an opportunity to unite with others rather than driving them further apart. May we all practice radical compassion, radical empathy..during this time of shared humanity & vulnerability. Amen
TV FREE ZONE: I got rid of the thing in 2006 (weird for a TV producer) and cannot imagine ever going back. There’s music, the interweb and books. #StayHome
FLOWERS FOR YOUR HEART: Theres no shortage of fresh cut flowers at the weekly trip to the market. They brighten the telecommuting work day. #StayHome
