New Jersey Governor issues executive order that all residents must stay at home. All gatherings cancelled. No weddings, services, parties.
Says those with 2nd homes at shore should not go to them. Infrastructure can't handle it. All businesses closed.

New York City +1,803 to 6,211 cases, per @NYGovCuomo. Total New York state 10,356. Testing total is 45,437. 15% of cases requiring hospitalization. Still estimating 40% - 80% of population will be infected; goal is to slow rate of infection to give healthcare system time to prep.
The Governor says he is going to put young people on notice. They are spreading the disease, they are vulnerable to it, they are breaking the rules about social distancing. 54% of confirmed cases are 18-49 years old.

Today ISBE hosted six tele-town halls with superintendents, regional superintendents, and other educational leaders across the state. More than 1,200 called in – and ISBE is so grateful to have had the opportunity to connect.
ISBE would like to restate that the statewide mandatory school closure begins March 17 and extends through at least March 30. All of the days during this initial closure March 17-30 will be considered Act of God Days and will not be made up.
ISBE is encouraging all school districts to provide learning opportunities to all students, through whatever means possible. Student work during this time should not be graded, as these days are not Instructional Days. #KeepLearning at isbe.net/keeplearning.

I wanted to provide you all w/an update on actions the State of CA is taking to contain the spread of #COVID19—

Gov. @GavinNewsom has issued an executive order requiring the cancellation any gatherings of 250+ statewide. This supersedes local measures allowing larger gatherings.
In addition, @GavinNewsom’s executive order:

- Waives the one-week waiting period for people who are unemployed and/or disabled as a result of #COVID19.

- Delays the deadline for state tax filing by 60 days for individuals & businesses unable to file on time due to COVID-19.
The executive order also:

- Allows local or state legislative bodies to hold meetings via teleconference and to make meetings accessible electronically

- Allows local and state emergency administrators to act quickly to protect public health

#FDR promoted the idea that the people of the world, in all nations, shared entitlement to four freedoms: that of the freedom of speech and expression, the freedom of worship, the freedom from want and the freedom from fear.
#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.
