28. Penalty for exposure of infected persons and things

Any person who—

(a) while suffering from any infectious disease, wilfully exposes himself
without proper precautions against spreading the said disease in
any street, public place,...

...shop, inn or public conveyance, or enters any public conveyance without previously notifying the owner,
conductor or driver thereof that he is so suffering; or
(b) being in charge of any person so suffering, so exposes such
sufferer; or...

... (c) gives, lends, sells, transmits or exposes, without previous
disinfection, any bedding, clothing, rags or other things which have
been exposed to infection from any such disease,
shall be guilty of an offence and liable to a fine not exceeding thirty thousand...

... shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both; and
a person who, while suffering from any such disease, enters any public
conveyance without previously notifying the owner or driver that he is so suffering shall in addition be ordered...

... by the court to pay such owner and driver the amount
of any loss and expenses they may incur in carrying into effect the provisions of this Act with respect to disinfection of the conveyance:
Provided that no proceedings under this section shall be taken...

Earlier today, a team of Digital Forensic Experts and Serious Crime Unit detectives working on intelligence raided an office in Ngara within Nairobi County.

Upon gaining entry, the team found two suspected hackers actively on @ntsa_kenya database and TIMS system.
The officers managed to arrest the two suspects namely Michael Onyango Oduor aged 54, Sylvester Onyango - 30 years and recovered the following: Ksh1,188,000, USD 100, three motor vehicles and fiber laser cutting machine that they were using to cut number plates.
Also recovered was a compressor machine that was being used for painting number plates, one complete number plate, five desktop computers, laptops, logbooks, modems, hard drives and flash drives.

Further investigations led the officers to NTSA offices where they arrested...

What will determine the infection rate?
The basic reproduction number; Ro:
average no of cases (secondary infections) generated by a single (I) (primary infection) introduced into a (S)
To sustain an epidemic :
Ro <1 (No epidemic)
Ro =1 (sustained)
Ro>1 (outbreak/Epidemic)
Ro for #COVID19 =3.58 (means that about 4 secondary infections will result from introducing an infectious person (I) into susceptible (S) population. A successful infectious disease control program aims to bring the Ro to Ro <1, this determines the vaccination coverage.

I honestly think we need a nationwide public education campaign to help people understand why they should stop buying masks to wear to run errands. You’re not helping anyone, including yourself, by doing that, & you’re contributing to a critical shortage among healthcare workers.
Some people are disregarding the guidance they’ve been given. Others haven’t been given clear guidance, & some don’t understand the guidance they’ve been given. I don’t think most people wearing masks around the grocery store understand that they could be *increasing* their risk.
I have not seen any signs of a public education campaign aimed at increasing awareness of things like:
-for the avg person, wearing a mask makes you more likely to trap germs near your mouth (after touching your face or adjusting the mask) .../

It's been a crazy morning going over legal documents to determine rights since businesses closing by order of governors. I came across this Y2K language & was reminded that there were so many IT professionals working behind the scenes that some people said Y2K was a hoax (thread)
