I've just landed in Nairobi, apparently to be taken to quarantine by GOK. They aren't telling us anything, not letting us access bathrooms, and slowly but surely we are filling up the space they have left for us #coronaviruskenya
Social distancing here is impossible. Not everyone has masks -some of those that do (including airport staff) are wearing them incorrectly Children are acting up. There are exactly 6 chairs.
Apparently we are being sent to a hotel, at our cost, for the 14 days. People who flew in earlier today /yesterday say they were quoted 10,000 ksh (100 usd) per night. Self quarantine is no longer an option. #coronaviruskenya
Dont get me wrong, I get why these measures are necessary however the level of disorganization and poor planning is ridiculous. The Ministry of health has to stop making proclamations to make it *seem* like the situation is in control when reality is v different #coronaviruskenya
I'm getting 0 information from any officials here currently, however what people are telling me is that the other quarantine options are dormitory style. How is squeezing people into rooms preventing the spread of #coronaviruskenya.
Another flight has landed, the room is getting more crowded, there isnt any soap and water or hand sanitizer in sight (even with immigration officers who have to touch all our passports and hand them back) #coronaviruskenya
Update: we have been given a list of hotels to book, and are not being let out of the airport until we book one. Cheapest is 50 dollars a night. People are on the phone panicking. Also, it's now been 3 hours since we landed, no food, no water #coronaviruskenya
10 mins later: we are apparently being told to go to Kenya School of Government (in batches of 5) to be briefed there. Already officials seems to be taking back that announcement. Who knows.
Finally let outside, get to see my mum, on the other side of the barricade, #coronaviruskenya #coronavirusinKenya they have finally decided to take us to KSG 
NONE of the facilities the government is offering are free. How can the frontline mandatory treatment and quarantine for #covid19 be so inaccessible.
FINAL UPDATE for tonight. After frantic calls and help from my mum, my aunts, my uncles, we finally found me somewhere to stay. I arrived at midnight, 6 hours after I landed at JKIA, 30 hours since started this journey (1) I am privileged to have this option.
Tonight I have been yelled at by countless immigration officials and police officers, and airport authority members. While frustrated, I dont blame them. They are undersuppoted. The root is GOK mishandling #covid19 so spectacularly.

This thread has opened up a lot of discussion and I'm glad for it. There are too many messages for me to respond to so I'm going to clarify a few things and then go back to quarantining.
1. Did I HAVE to come back? Yes. I didnt want to, not because I dont love home, or think abroad is better, but because I didnt want to be part of the people potentially bringing it in. Travel at this time is a terrible idea. I was, like many people coming in, forcibly sent home.
2. Am I trying to avoid quarantine? Absolutely not. I WANT to be quarantined, if it means my fellow kenyans are safe. My concern is that the government is mishandling quarantine and that affects everybody, not just me.
3. Why are you complaining so much? Like everyone here I want Kenyan systems to work and protect us. If no one addresses how they may not be working, they will continue to fail us. Complacency with poor governance is not the way to go.
4. Why are you complaining about cost? #COVID19 will spread much faster if people cannot afford treatment or quarantine. It's that simple. Now is the time for the GOK to provide for its citizens (we lose billions yearly to corruption - the money is there).
