Researchers used camera footage taken inside one bus to reconstruct how passengers got infected from one person: “in a closed environment with air-conditioning, the transmission distance of the new coronavirus will exceed the commonly recognised safe distance,” they concluded
Patient “A” didn't interact w/others on bus during 4-hr ride, but by time bus stopped at next city, seven other passengers were infected, including a couple who sat six rows away. After a new group of passengers boarded bus 30 min later, a passenger in that group got infected.
This study was apparently retracted by peer-reviewed journal that published it, though it's unclear why. Oddly, same journalist who wrote original story wrote followup story about retraction, but never added note to original story saying study was retracted so readers would know.
