From midnight tomorrow night, the following are closed:
- food court in shopping centres
- auction houses
- open house inspections
- outdoor and indoor markets (excluding food markets)
- hairdressers and barbers can continue with strict controls, and half hour time limits
- amusement parks and arcades are closing
- play centres closed too
- boot camps and personal training limited to 10 people
- funerals need to be limited to no more than 10 people
PM says those two are not easy decisions
Going outside - other than shopping for basics, exercising with a partner etc - are advised against.
All are being advised to work from home where possible.
He says the states and territories could consider penalties for people holding house parties
He’ll meet with the education sector tomorrow, to sort out guidelines for keeping schools open, ensuring arrangements are in place for teachers, and to make sure kids still get caught.
PM says after school break, there will be a mixture of in school and distance learning
PM says every role is essential in the economy at the moment. So anyone who wants to keep sending their kids to schools so they can keep working can and should do so.
