Coronavirus may have infected half of UK population — Oxford study | Financial Times

A much needed immunity study that will help to establish levels of immunity both in front line workers and in the community.

Testing out Imperial Study assumptions

ft.com/content/5ff646…
Quite a controversial assertion from Oxford University.

But mad not to test the theory out that a lot more people have been infected with no symptoms or mild symptoms.

Also to test out who in the front line is already immune.

And, more important, who is not.
The Oxford University model is also not confirmed.

This is a way to do so more rigorously.

Especially when, if this model is reasonably accurate, why are we seeing such a sudden grave uptick?

We need to know for 2nd wave probabilities.
Universities of Cambridge and Kent are collaborating with Oxford to assist in delivering an expansive study.
I see that Anthony Costello (Ex WHO), who has also called for extensive testing, endorses the need for this study.

Whatever the outcome it is of service to a world knocked sideways by a pandemic that has made us think again about what really matters.

We need to understand immunity and how extensive (or not) it might be.

To do that a starting point is a hypothesis to trst.

A hypothesis is not an end point. Even a belief.

Just a framework to explore where the truth lies.
A little more on the study here from someone involved in the computational modelling of the pandemic here.

A reminder. It is a hypothesis not a fact or even an assumption.
