Start of death-knell of newspapers?
-many have stopped #newspapers in apts and some publications are also closed
will it kill the habit?
move to online/live news?
make Indian newspaper follow global trend of decline?
Cable TV will get a leg up; more than OTT
will internet bandwidth choked (everyone is WFH), OTT streaming is slow and in mobile defaulted to SD
cable is the best place to get HD.. recharged your tataSky/Dish TV? you are not the only one...
cinema/multiplexes
Will you go to one in 2020? many won't even if it subsides in next 1-2 months
PVR, Inox, others... will the single theaters survive this?
it will change forever.. everywhere
many have cancelled trips in 2020, and may scale down international trips in near future
Chinese were the most active travelers and spend the most money
Now they will be looked at with more suspicion
Airlines
travel agency etc are likely to have a long bear market and low growth
Only few will pack their bags and say, hey lets go to Europe/US for a trip...
lets see how long it takes for the travelers memory of COVID19 to fade
Cloud- that's an easy winner
everything is in the cloud
all the videos you are watching,
work you are doing at home
needs cloud
$AMZN $GOOG $MSFT are all going to benefit from this
any Indian plays you recommend?
I think Indian IT/ITES is an area that will benefit
no impact of social distancing
and the more there is tech enabled solutions to help with future BCP/exigencies
the more #IT industry should benefit
This is an area I so very wish governments spent more on
India specially needs to make so much progress on this
Many will realise the need for being healthier
Health and life insurance
should see an uptick
even though there are less tax benefits
and hope people start writing wills- its an under-rated need for many including in urban India
hopefully more will value that health is more imp than wealth!
the lack of maids/cooks will increase the need for the urban and rich to use technology more
"Dishwashers hai na" will be the reply if anyone asks the below
become as ubiquitous as washing machines
many are buying robot vaccum cleaners
3M, Honeywell, etc?
would also love to hear your thoughts on what you think may change
and yes, a lots will.. life after a pandemic is never going to the same..
Shaken by the almost 600 "imported” cases, China has already announced the sealing of its borders to foreigners.
