Biden on CNN says he spoke to Washington Gov. Inslee today, Michigan Gov. Whitmer last night, Gov. Wolf of Pennsylvania recently. Missed a call today from Gov. Edwards of Louisiana but has spoken to him recently too.
BIden said he's also spoken to Republicans but didn't name names
Biden says he'd urge governors to shut down their states in hopes of stalling the coronavirus spread nationwide. “Why would we not err on the side of making sure we are not going to have a repeat?”
On Trump's battles with governors, Biden says: "This is not personal. It has nothing to do with you, Donald Trump, nothing to do with you. Do your job. Stop personalizing everything."
Biden says he supports a rent freeze for at least the next three months. "Freeze it and forgive it. No one should be evicted during this period." He also says he "absolutely" supports a moratorium on shutting off unpaid utilities and would "do it nationwide."
Biden almost offered his phone number on CNN to anyone struggling with loss who hasn't been able to be by the side of a loved one dying of coronavirus. Instead, he urged them to get in touch with his campaign.
