BREAKING: The PM is aware of long queues at Immigration and there is now a plan to grant automatic extensions to visas for those who arrived in #Thailand after 1st March. More details soon. Here’s the announcement.

Although this automatic extension of stay won’t help the majority, it’s at least a step in the right direction. Many thanks to everyone who helped raise awareness by retweeting. I think we made a difference as he did quote one of my tweets about 300 people in the queue at 5:40am.
We will have to wait for the official announcement on the automatic extension of stay which hopefully will come soon. However, when he said tourist visas, we can presume that includes VOA and Visa Exemptions. We are also expecting them to do away with 90 day reporting too.
This announcement is also expected to help people with Thai Permanent Residency who have gone abroad and cannot come back. Normally they are only allowed to leave #Thailand for up to one year. It is expected for this to be extended. But please wait for official announcement.
