Thread time:

We've hinted at this over the years, but before our current hockey stats obsession took hold (sometime in the fall of '16), we had a different obsession that we devoted all of our time to: music. We've been on hiatus so to speak, but we're getting back into it now.
Given the uncertainty of the current global situation, the absence of hockey, and a natural stopping point for us in general, we're planning to revisit our musical endeavors. Of course, we will still be maintaining @EvolvingHockey - nothing will change there.
Let us begin. We were both music majors in college (Luke: theory/composition, Josh: trombone performance). While these were entirely in the western classical tradition like most conservatory degrees, our own music did not really involve either.
While in school, we formed a band/trio with our great friend Jake Fisher (@WakeandJakePod) called Perennial: Jake on guitar, Luke on keyboards/electronics, and Josh on samplers/sequencers/drums etc. We played and recorded a lot of music.
We produced and recorded our first LP entitled "Luster", released back in the spring of 2013 on our own label Deathbot Records (@deathbotrecords). It came in digital, CD, and LP forms. Links here:

The LP/vinyl turned out amazing (we had ~400 records pressed, of which we still have a decent amount left). A few pictures:
As part of the process to make and fund the album's release, we did a kickstarter campaign where people could donate and we'd record covers of any song of their choosing. This is our version of TV on the Radio's "Golden Age", and the hymn "In the Garden":

We each had solo projects. Luke is currently still working on his, and unfortunately a lot of Jake's solo stuff (Mother Hydra) was lost due to a stolen computer. But Josh released several EP/LPs under the moniker Superstructure.

To the future: when we did take our break from music, we were ~90% done with our second LP for Perennial entitled "Rain Chamber". This is what we're hoping to finish during this time of isolation. Here is the song "Piledrive" from the upcoming album:

And finally, we wanted to share a cover of Radiohead's "I Will", which we recorded in the winter/spring of 2017. At the time, our motivation to record this was based on other things, but now it feels more relevant than ever.

Alright, that's about it. We'll likely be posting more stuff in the future as we finish up some old/in-process projects that we have stored away. Hope you enjoy! It's fun to finally share this with everyone. Not really sure why it took us so long.

One more thing. Jake has a really awesome podcast (he tweets links to it @WakeandJakePod). We had the pleasure of joining him about a year ago, we chatted and played some music with him on it as well! Give him a follow and a listen :)

While we're at it, I (Josh) also used to write about music on a blog. I wrote this for a friend's blog that is now defunct, but since it's still very relevant, I posted it here. Might as well share.
