Hello #Jichangwook fans. This is not the kind of message I like to address to start my day, but we really have a problem here, in the fandom. (A thread)
You may know or not know about it, but since yesterday, we have kind of our "own scandal" in the fandom because of a tweet one fan posted.
To be short and not sharing the tweet anymore who could cause more reaction, the fan implicated in this situation had some harsh words against « Melting Me Softly », expressing in her very own way her dislike for the drama.
So, I’m here to support the fan in the center of this situation. Not because I’m supporting her words, but because what’s happening right now because of her tweet is CYBERBULLYING. She literally got tons of tweet attacking her, some very aggressive
As I said previously I’m not supporting her words, but I don’t support what some of you wrote to her either. Why? Because you went very far for a simple opinion tweet. And yes, no matter how she may have formulate it, it’s her single opinion.
I went to talk to her and she told me she was scared and stress by the reaction comment she got. And this is, were our problem is, because THIS is cyberbullying.
In this fandom, we have a lot of people from different ground, from different age. Some are very lowkey and some express themselves more. The fan who posted is very straight-forward on her words, and sometimes may seems very harsh
But it’s her way of expressing her opinion, and she doesn’t claim what she says is an absolute truth. It’s just her bloody opinion!

Now let’s comeback on the unfamous tweet. What she said, and I don’t understand how you could have take it any other way
was toward the storyline of the drama. At any moment, she didn’t say anything bad about #Jichangwook! I mean, back at the days of the drama broadcasting, I saw many people disliking the storyline! BUT no matter how she may dislike the drama
she always supported him and praised his acting. Remember the video during the drama’s end party? When our boy express her regret about ratings? All the kfans present told their endless support for him, but consider the fact many of them were the same who disliked the storyline!
So, let me now talk about something some people said and who really bothers me. NO, the fact a single international fan post her little opinion about one of his project not gonna affect his image has you said. But the fact many of you comes aggressively at her, a young fan
when we’re all almost older and supposedly wiser, is what may affect his image. Where lies our credibility as fans if we’re not even capable of respecting each others? If we fight between each others? What kind of effect do you think it may have on him?
What kind of image do you think it gives to him when his older fans cyberbullying a younger fan? For me it has more than any tweet of a young fan saying she dislike one of his project.
Being a fan is not about liking blindly every project he does. As some said, it’s about respecting the choice he makes. And never the fan in this situation disrespected his choice, or his hardwork for the drama.
Also, because she expressed her dislike of the drama, doesn’t mean she doesn’t respect those who liked it.
You have all right to not share her opinion and dislike the way she express it. I don’t share it myself, I loved MMS (even if for me some part of the storyline was terrible) and what she said is a bit overly harsh to me
BUT it doesn’t allow you to cyberbullying her or to tell her she should say this kind of things in private… Hello freedom of speech!
Also, what makes me really surprise by yours reaction, is how much you care about others fans’ opinion. For me being a fan is very personal. Yes we have a common feature: Our love for #Jichangwook. But we all have different sensibilities, and different ways to express this love
Some gonna give more credits to physical, some others to his acting, some others to his personality. None of this is wrong, none of us is a "better fan" just because we love this or those. We just has different ways of being a fan
She feels sorry about how she has worded her tweet and admit it’s her mistake but the way some of you here or even on Instagram reacted to it (how could it go that’s far?) is YOUR mistake. You are responsable of creating a case of cyberbullying. Because let me ask you to think.
She posted her tweet long before she received the first « hate comment », with no reacting out of her friends. But because her tweet got a first single disapprobating comment from one of you , it gave more visibility to her tweet to your own followers
which made her received a lot of aggressive and harsh comments. If her tweet just got ignored (as it should have be) none of this would have happen.
She should reflect about her action, but please consider thinking about yours. Because in this ultra-connected world we’re all living, it’s really easy to attract hate without purposely wanting it. I’m asking you to think about how your action can bring hate on a young woman
I apologize for this long thread, and I’m not asking you to be agree with my words. You can even block me. I just expect some thinking and perspective in this situation. The wrong is not always where you think it is. What you did to her, is as wrong as you think her words were
Now let’s keep calm and all love Ji Chang Wook!
