LATEST on #Russia/n policy activity (possibly) related to #NagornoKarabakh:
1. Contacts increase w/ #Iran over last couple of days. IRN ambassador in #Moscow twice hosted by #Lavrov's deputies: officially - one time to discuss #Syria, Gulf, the other - Eurasian Economic Union.
2. #UAE's Crown prince Mohammed bin Zayed called #Putin yesterday. #Kremlin's presser says the two focused on "Middle East settlement and cooperation on #COVID19" (Emiraties now testign #Russia/n Sputnik V vaccine).
3. On Oct. 11 Lavrov spoke on the phone w/ @MevlutCavusoglu. The @mfa_russia presser (attached) says Moscow & Ankara noted "need to strictly comply w/ terms of the Joint Statement by Foreign Ministers of #Russia,#Armenia & #Azerbaijan" but I'm guessing #Turkey sees it differently
4. Perhaps, most importantly, a few hours ago Head of #Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov wrote in his telegram that "4 bandits" who sought to run terrorist attacks in Northern Caucasus were killed in Grozny earlier today. They reportedly came from abroad & were previously spotted in #Syria
Coupled w/ earlier statements from #Russia's foreign intelligence chief Naryshkin, Kadyrov's message may mean #Moscow is gradually building a political, miliary and moral case for its involvement in #NagornoKarabakh

Earlier, I forecasted 👇 that #Turkey's ultimate goal in this war was not to fight anyone but get a new deal with #Russia. It was obvious from @RTErdogan's criticism of Minsk OSCE group performance on #Karabakh. Bu the devil is in details & here they are

- equality of sovereign states;
- non-interference w/ domestic affairs;
-the right of peoples to determine their own future;
- non-use of force or threat of force;
- political settlement of disputes
2/ Despite criticism:
-UN instrumental in protecting peace,promoting development,providing assistance in mitigating local crises;
-UN potential is"enormous",expertise is "relevant"

(2) establish psychologically assymetric relationship of “superior – subordinate”
(3) make counterparts feel like the very meeting w/ US President is some kind of privilege
2.The protocol implies
(a) 2 presidents should sit in front of each other,have equal access to the table (Vučić sitting farther from the table,can’t put his hands/papers on it)
