Watching the video of the terrorist shooting a civilian while walking, it reminds me of the same style used in Paris when the attacker did exactly the same, shooting a policeman.

In #austriaAttack, the man carried a gun & a machine gun with abundant ammo
#austriaAttack doesn't look an attack on the Synagogue but a terrorist - It doesn't look he had a specific target- attack shooting passerby. 1 of the terrorists (it is definitely a Paris-style attack to me) shot a civilian from a short distance 3 times to be able to reach him.
It is early to jump to conclusions but, the first idea I have is that of #ISIS using its propaganda machine to announce its return and start recruiting.
These are the consequences of the war on #Syria when #Europe allowed jihadists to travel to turn the country into a fail-state.
This is what #Europe failed to understand that the continent is much closer to the Middle East and its waves than the #US.

You support an illegal war waged by the US, it is not Washington that paid the price but #Paris #Vienna #Brussels and other European cities.
When I say the Paris attack, I refer to the series of coordinated "Islamic State" attacks that took place on 13 November 2015 in Paris.

In #austriaAttack, no suicide attacks involved, but Unusual terrorists had access to automatic weapons in #Vienna.
I believe the #COVID19 Lockdown at 20:00 precipitated the time of the attack and reduced civilian casualties. Now it is the work of CT cooperation.

Vienna on high alert as police hunt for armed gunmen in Austria terror attack.

bbc.com/news/world-eur…
What puzzles me in these FTs is the fact that the shooter opened fire (missed) against a woman w/ Hijab (possible) unless there are other invisible elements in this video of #austriaAttack.
In the FTs the woman spotted him, turned back & ran when he opened fire in her direction.
#ViennaTerroristAttack : Five dead, including a terrorist in #Austriaattack and 5 severely wounded.
Buying automatic weapons, bringing a group of attackers together (more than one) & managed to stay under the radar shld be recognised. Although #ISIS is still capable of organising attacks overseas & dormant cells r present, the group is far from regaining its 2014-2016 'glory'.
#Europe can only foil terrorist attacks when Counter-Terrorism cooperation is achieved among states. Also, the tightening on these groups back home, in #Syria and #Iraq mainly is essential. You fight the roots before the little branches even if these branches cause death.
Support to countries like #Iraq and #Syria in strategic stability prevents the migration of terrorists who aim to hit where people can talk more about them. Terrorists love media and want the world to advertise for them. That is the main aim of these attacks in #Europe.
Also, remember how Abu Musab Zarqawi wanted a sectarian Sunni-Shia war to bring all Sunni behind him? Well, this is the same strategy to push #EU Europe to attack #Islam creating #IslamoPhobia_Is_Terrorism and for Muslims to feel persecuted and fall into #ISIS arms.
Similar attacks on larger scale happen in the Middle East regularly & have been on for years. These attacks find less publicity coz people in the ME are, unfortunately, used to live with death nearby. This is not the case in #Europe & this is why #ISIS aims for #EU #ViennaAttack
#ViennaAttack Kurtin S, killed 4 people & killed by the police, was born in 2000 in Vienna where he grew up. He is of Albanian origin (parents from Northern Macedonia). He was 1 of 90 Austrian who wanted to travel to #Syria but was prevented by local authorities, V @florianklenk
So, now we know that the terrorist of #ViennaAttack was radicalised in #Austria & had his own circle of friends. A good start and important to know he is not a refugee but has embraced #ISIS call during the #Iraq #Syria war.

A 20 -year-old doesn't adopt radicalism/Takfiri alone.
#Austria Interior Karl Nehammer: "Last night, raids took place in connection w/ the terrorist attack.15 houses search & several arrests. Kujtim, the 20-year-old Austrian citizen with dual nationality (Northern Macedonia) had dummy explosives belt, a rifle, a pistol & a machete."
#ISIS claim its responsibility for #ViennaAttack by "Abu Dujana al-Albani, a soldier of the Caliphate". #austriaAttack

Information in this claim has been officially released this morning, giving ample time for ISIS to benefit from the details. However, I believe it this time.

A genuine question:

Gulf countries, #SaudiArabia #Emirates and #Bahrein normalised with #Israel to 'counter #Iran". How can Israel help defeating Iran when the entire Israeli army is lockdown in barracks , afraid of #Hezbollah, a tiny small group ally of Iran?

Strange policy.
#US is spending $10 bn in #Lebanon, not to build schools, universities, hospitals, innovative agriculture & industry or alternative energy but to counter #Hezbollah. But Hezb imposed a President (@General_Aoun), a PM (Hassan Diab) and the speaker is his ally.

Weird investment.
And #SaudiArabia King Salman speaks at the #UN against a small group, #Hezbollah, rising the level of a non-state actor to an important player, a competitor to Saudi Arabia's influence.

Also @SecPompeo remembers Hezbollah every single day and imposes sanctions every month on it.

Who is behind the resignation of #Lebanon PM Mustafa Diab? The answer is @saadhariri who badly wants to return to power but #SaudiArabia veto on him is preventing his return. Therefore, he "burns" all candidates he himself chooses until @EmmanuelMacron convinces the Saudi.
This is the first failure of #France's initiative and an indication to #Paris that it has little - not none - leverage in #Lebanon.

As I wrote in my previous articles, the #US did not give the green light to France to take over but within a specific framework: disarm #Hezbollah
Coz #France understands that #Hezbollah can't be disarmed (#Israel supported by the #US and #SaudiArabia tried by failed to achieve this objective), @EmmanuelMacron divided the problem by concentrating on forming a government first and left #Hezbollah's weapons to another stage.

By attacking #Iran overtly at the UN, #SaudiArabia helped #Tehran to take its gloves off & express directly & explicitly the nature of the Saudi regime and its sponsors of terrorism (AQ and ISIS). This will reflect upon Iran's allies: no more suave effort.
#SaudiArabia has been an ally of #Israel since 1980 but #Iran never wanted to break the relationship w/ Riyadh or overtly act against it as Saudi did. Fear of a sectarian war was greater & that kept Iran cautiously flirting w/ Saudi but confronting it in the field through allies.
Now that #SaudiArabia has lost its sectarian war in #Syria and #Iraq, is not (and shall not) managing to submit #Yemen, has lost its allies in #Lebanon where #Hezbollah (Iran ally) has won, #Riyadh is turning towards the #UN and wishes fight to the last American against #Iran.

#France Prsdt @EmmanuelMacron believes he has more chances to be re-elected if he "solves" the current crisis in #Lebanon. @wallacemick told me yesterday in a café that Macron may be re-elected only if he builds - metaphorically- a wall with #Turkey. Lebanon is the wrong path.
In fact, Macron maybe imitating President Trump who supports #Israel to get re-elected for a second term. But the Lebanese lobby in France doesn't have the weight needed. Moreover, #France is expected to fail in its attempt to force a government to its liking in #Beirut.
I don't understand why #France can't understand that Speaker Berri & #Hezbollah shld facilitate the French initiative when #Paris is an accomplice with the US in mounting the number of sanctions on the duo group that, along with its allies, are the strongest at the parliament.

No government as long as the majority is not happy. Former PM Fouad Sinura wanted his nephew as a Finance Minister and Speaker Nabih Berri said: This position is for the Shia and will remain as such. #Lebanon #France
#France @EmmanuelMacron was informed about the US sanctions against the Speaker (right hand) wich infuriated Berri.

All that is happening today in #Lebanon is to spoil the ruling of the majority and in particular @General_Aoun.
Among the Christian Lebanese, Tayyar al-Watani of @Gebran_Bassil is the only party willing to accommodate #France and @EmmanuelMacron. Bassil is making one mistake after another: asking to remove the Finance Ministry from the Shia & to exchange ministries could turn against him +

We have moved from calling the former gov a "Hezbollah cabinet" to a "France government" in #Lebanon.

Shia and majority Christians members of the parliament shall not give the vote to the new cabinet, neither the Speaker will be present (his deputy)

Tomorrow, the newly elected Prime Minister Mustafa Adib will present the list of ministers to the President of #Lebanon @General_Aoun who would wait for a few days before approving the "French list" next week.

It is unclear how a new cabinet would succeed with this situation+
The new PM can't go to the Parliament when he needs 65 votes and those who hold these vote won't be present to support him.

The new PM of #Lebanon Mustafa Adib is either totally unaware of his presence on the planet Earth or believes #France can buy his success.
