/In a thread we hv seen the gross inflow of FDI in to India n from where the investments are coming to which sector
/ A lot of people requested since then to put out the Overseas Direct Investment and other related details
/ Just like the FDI comes in to India, Indian businesses invest in other countries. That is called ODI
/ Overseas Direct Investment numbers will give us some perspective, how much and where do Indian businesses houses r investing
/ let us check some data from April 2014 to 2017 August. That might give some interesting insight in to the reality
dea.gov.in/sites/default/…
/ To understand ODI, you should know what is “financial commitment” in ODI. RBI explanation for FC is in this screenshot
/ See this numbers - Total FDI inflow Vs ODI actual outflow shows the later is also increasing. That means, more Indian businesses +
/ thinks it is more lucrative to do business outside especially when we look at the domestic capital investment in last three years
/ whatever the Govt may say, this shows lack of confidence of business owners in Modi regime’s policies
/ As u already know what is the financial commitment in ODI, let us check the numbers of FDI vs ODI Financial Commitments
/ Above mentioned details gives a new perspective. If $60082 million came in to India in the last financial year (2016-17) +
/ $35936 million were committed by Indian businesses to invest in other countries. That is 60% of the Inflow.
/ We have seen, Most of the FDIs are coming in to India from tax havens. Let us see where do Indian business houses invest
/ This is the list of top 10 countries where Indians invested in last 3 years.
/ Here you have seen the same pattern - as FDIs are coming from tax havens, ODIs are going to tax havens.
/ Mauritius,Singapore, Switzerland, British Virgin Islands, Luxemburg, Cyprus, Cayman Islands, Panama.. list is too long
/ This RBI data shows something very interesting - just in March 2017, out of the total outflow of $3312 million+
rbidocs.rbi.org.in/rdocs/content/…
/ $1743 million went into Mauritius, Singapore, HongKong, Switzerland, Panama, British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, Jersey & Luxemburg.
/ Out of this $1743 million, $1136 million was into Mauritius alone! And Remember, Maximum FDI Inflow is also fm Mauritius!
/ This Screenshot will tell the sectors Indians are investing the maximum.
/ I’m not suggesting any wrong doing or conspiracy here; but pointing out the facts from government’s own data.
/ Yes, one thing I would say is Modi Government misleading the general public showing the huge numbers of FDI gross inflow.
/ They should accept all is not well as they project because a huge percentage of FDI coming in to Brownfield projects +
/ and heavy increase in ODI outflow shows the real picture. If everything is hanky dory here, why do ODI numbers r increasing?
/25 Modi & Jaitley will not accept the truth and Bhakts are so happy to believe the nude emperor is well clad!
