1. If you are watching Fox News this morning or reading any right-wing website you may have heard about a new BOMBSHELL report that exposes serious misconduct by BARACK OBAMA.

Well, I looked into it, and it is a complete fraud.

2. The report is based on these texts. Fox News and Senator Ron Johnson says they are proof that Obama wanted a briefing on the Clinton email scandal, raising SERIOUS QUESTIONS

3. It's not complicated to explain why this is wrong. The Clinton email investigation was closed by Comey in July. Same texts show the FBI didn't even become aware of the emails on Weiner's laptop until Sept 28.

4. There is no way Obama would be requesting a briefing on a CLOSED investigation.

So what was this about. Almost certainly the ongoing counterintelligence investigation into Russia and election interference.

5. And oh, BTW, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the President being briefed about a counterintelligence investigation. It's part of his job.

A few days later, he confronted Putin about election interference in China.

6. The person advancing this false report is Senator Ron Johnson, who recently claimed he had evidence of a "secret society" in the FBI and then quickly backtracked.

Absolutely no evidence of this. Trump cites the cost of illegal drugs, most of which come through official ports of entry.
