Many parents try their best. Many are limited by education, the narrowness of their own universes and their own lack of exposure. Many still are trying to do their best for their kids.
When a parent still pushes you to be a doctor lawyer Indian chief it's bcz they want their kids to be independent and financially secure and that's what they know. They're doing what they think best
When you say artist they think of the man selling paintings on the roadside and don't want that for you. When you say dancer they can't see that as a career in jamaica. They also want you to have some "social status". True. Bcz life for you will be easier that way
And I know people who tried at careers in music, writing etc and had to go back to a regular job. That's what your parents see. But big up those ppl who try. And give parents a break. Many of them are acting out of love. They just don't show it how you want them to.
Follow me tho. I'm not trying to say you must do what your parents want you to do. I'm explaining why many parents feel that way. If you want to do something diff, do it and stop cussing yr parents who were just trying to do the best they cd out of love
