There is a platform that proposes a solution to take blockchain to the next level. It envision itself as Blockchain 3.0. Does it have what it takes to disrupt blockchain tech?

Stop the guess, read the thread, as we introduce no other platform than Arcblock by @ArcBlock_io

👇👇
This thread is divided into two sections.
Section A talks about the existing problems of blockchain tech and @ArcBlock_io proposed solution to the problems.

Section B talks about Arcblock’s architecture in details.
As you read, remain blessed.

1/
SECTION A:
Have you asked yourself why #blockchain #tech hasn’t gained mainstream adoption even with the positive updates and development? The reason is because of:
a) - poor performance
b) - cost
c) - lack of features
2/

d) - consumer hostile interfaces: most blockchain applications require clients to run a full #blockchain node or a light node. This learning curve has delayed the massive adoption of this mind-boggling tech.
3/

e) - platform lock-in: this is a situation that makes developers of blockchain apps develop platform specific applications and find it difficult later on to switch to another blockchain
The above listed problems are what Arcblock aims to solve with its unprecedented tech
4/ Arcblock is a platform and an ecosystem for building and deploying decentralized applications.
With Arcblock, a Dapp can easily be accessed from a browser without having to install an external extension or a plugin, offering a reactive and real-time experience for users
5/ Arcblock is a platform service with an incentive-driven marketplace that supports reusability of services, components and even fully-fledged apps. Miners in Arcblock not only contribute in resource sharing but also participate in distributing reusable components and services.
6/ Arcblock handles the problem of platform lock-in by establishing an Open Chain Access Protocol that enables connectivity between various blockchains. Apps can now run on multiple blockchain platforms seamlessly while Arcblock abstracts most of the processes in the background
7/ @ArcBlock_io has a unique feature called “Blocklet”. Blocket is a component that takes advantage of microservice architecture and serverless computing to reduce the cost at which developers develop new softwares.
8/ Provided that the blocklet for a specific task is available, a developer wouldn’t have to build from scratch an entire app, since reusing of the blocklet for the app specific purpose is more efficient.
9/ . This modus operando is unique in the sense that the blocklets are independent of each other. Thereby making it fault resistant as a failure of a blocklet would have no direct effect on another blocket. What a brilliant architecture!
10/ Arcblock is also designed to run natively on the cloud, that doesn’t prevent it from running on a local computer for testing and deployment.
11/ The reason for deploying on the cloud is to enable faster development as the cloud manager handles multithreading and resource management, while Arcblock focuses on the core tech. The above features results in better performance, user friendly and a cost efficient platform.

SECTION B:

How Arcblock works in details:

The core of @ArcBlock_io platform are the blocklets (serverless computing microarchitecture for running various types of apps). Beneath each blocket, there are facilities and components that support them.
13/ First and foremost is the Open Chain Access Layer. This serves as an interface for connecting to multiple databases. It is similar to JDBC and ODBC for traditional dbs. As a result, there would be no need for developers to alter app logics to work across multiple blockchains
14/ Open Chain Access Layer is connected to various blockchains through Chain Adapters. Every blockchain have a chain adapter. Currently, Arcblock supports Bitcoin and Ethereum blockchains but plan to support more in the future.
15/ Chain adapters are also flexible as developers can create their own adapter for a different blockchain and get rewarded subsequently.
16/ Decentralized publisher-subscriber (pub/sub gateway). Since Arcblock platform runs natively on the cloud, multiple devices and infrastructures (phones, laptops, desktops…) can make use of the services provided asynchronously
17/ . There is need to secure the communication channel amongst the devices, this is where Arcblock’s API gateway comes in. Blocklets interact through the gateway to ensure their integrity

Arcblock has a marketplace where blocklets, chain adapters, apps can be traded for ABT
18/ Conclusion
The inspiration for Arcblock came from how database systems were built. Blockchain has many similarities with traditional database, the major difference of being distributed. Arcblock keyed into this and created a unique piece that would change the tech landscape
19/ If with the above explanation you aren’t still convinced about the future of this platform, take a nap and re-read again. Thank you for reading.
