This is going to be a very long thread on Left antisemitism & the safety of Jews.

A week in which the Leader of @UKLabour – and at least 2 other prominent Labour MPs and tens of Labour party members – have been revealed by Jewish activist David Collier @mishtal to have been (or still be) members of a secret Facebook group

set up by an openly antisemitic individual for those obsessively hostile to Israel, Zionisim, Zionists & all Jews who do not disavow Israel/Zionism, there is a point I believe must be made.

The revelations by David Collier @mishtal have made the press this week – even the BBC covered the story.

It goes in peaks and troughs but stories around Labour, trade union or broader Left antisemitism and obsessive hostility to Israel now make the press on a very regular basis. This has been the pattern since the rise to power of Jeremy Corbyn and his circle of comrades in 2015.

Each story is met by perfunctory statements from Labour HQ and/or the trade union, campaigning group or NGO involved, dignified but critical statements from Jewish communal organisations, critical comment from Jews on social media,

outrage from antisemitsm campaigners and excoriating pieces from commentators setting out the roots, causes and effects of Corbyn’s leadership and his fellow extremists.

and aggression from those on the Left who portray each story about Labour antisemitism as a right wing smear confected by mendacious Jews/Zionists as part of the defence of international capital against the progressive forces of the Left and the South.

A proportion of these narratives on the Left then morph themselves into antisemitic thinking/statements & they spread across both social media & more traditional news outlets when papers like the Guardian or Independent invite comment from those who refute the "smears"

We demand that Lab MPs DO SOMETHING rather than just stand by.

But I have a confession: I don’t want them to do anything, really. Not about this. Why? Because I fear what may happen.

Jews are a group well used to hate. Our schools & shuls are forced to have guards. We are a tiny minority, 0.3% of the UK population. Violent Jew hate is already on the rise as @CST regularly show. Now imagine what MIGHT happen if Corbyn actually were to fall over this.

How might that play out?

Lab MPs have 27 other reasons to act to free Labour of the extremist populist take-over. But rather than call out the lunatic far left fringe take over for what it is, it seems Lab MPs are happy to wait until someone like @mishtal - a Jew- can finally land a fatal blow.

They won’t step up so they let Jews go out on point for them and then almost none will even stand in solidarity. They’ll leave that until the Jews finally have the killer case that can’t be answered by Corbyn.

So come on Labour MPs. Tell us. Explain why you are prepared to let a tiny minority imperil itself. You rely on us having enough self-respect to stand up & do the fighting. And we do. But you won’t do it yourselves, will you?

And you want me, my family & my fellow Jews to pay whatever price might potentially be exacted in revenge afterwards.

I wrote something similar in April 2016 and i was worried then.
After 2 years of this i am even more worried.

Let me be 100% clear: I do not want Corbyn to fall over antisemitism. Anyone who does ought to think very, very carefully.
