2/ It's no coincidence the first time Trump ever mentioned Bob Mueller in a tweet was hours after he'd received a list of questions Mueller wants to ask him. Trump is not going to submit himself to questioning by law enforcement, any more than any knowingly guilty person would.

4/ The one thing Mueller could do to accommodate Trump's idiosyncratic criminal persona would be to, against his instincts, agree to significant conditions in questioning Trump, including some no prosecutor should accept. Then he might squeak by (for now) without getting fired.
5/ That said, I continue to be of the belief Trump would be unsuccessful in attempting to fire Mueller, for a host of procedural and legal and logistical reasons. For that reason, Mueller should go ahead and subpoena Trump once he refuses to answer questions without conditions.
