There are so many reasons Cindy Hyde-Smith is wrong for Mississippi.

One of the reasons that just came to light is her long history of racism, starting with attending a segregationist high school to sending her daughter to a similar one as well. #SaturdayMorning
Hyde-Smith attended a segregationist academy specifically designed to avoid Brown v. Board of Ed racial integration.

Not only that, but she also sent her daughter to a similar academy.

This story is stunning.

Two years ago (NYE 2016), I decided I would start an anonymous investment blog. I registered the domain (OfDollarsAndData.com) and opened this Twitter account.
\2 When I started I had something like 10 Twitter followers, all who were friends.
I decided I would post once a week. Rain or shine. This was one of the most important decisions I ever made for the blog:

Stick to a schedule.
\3 I remember posting my first post and sending it out to a handful of friends and family. Most didn’t click on the link (I tracked clicks with bit.ly).

I can’t tell you how demoralizing this was, especially given how excited I was to start this project.

How much longer are we going to give the @Alberta_UCP the benefit of the doubt?

I've been keeping track and *thirteen* separate candidates have made racist, homophobic, or anti-Science comments. This is a consistent trend.

Let me show you #ableg

First, some context. Every candidate has *passed* the UCP vetting process for candidates. This means that their background was looked into and they were approved before their comments came to light.

I started noticing this trend a few months ago so I decided to sit down and put together an excel sheet tracking UCP candidates. So far:

- 7 have made racist comments
- 2 have made homophobic comments
- 3 have posed with the soldiers of Odin

I was president of my GSA too, then organized LGBTQ youth on the early internet, then studied adolescent psych at Harvard. I've got something to say about high-school GSAs in America. 1/
A GSA serve three purposes: support, education, and activism.

SUPPORT means it is a safe place to be yourself if you are LGBTQ. You can meet other LGBTQ kids and allies there, as well as safe adults. You can make friends who will love you for who you are. 2/
This is important because LGBTQ youth are at higher risk than their straight peers for drug abuse, sexual exploitation, and suicide [2] largely because they are far more likely to lose parental support before they have the maturity and resources to make it on their own. 3/
