Labour Claim of 70 Outstanding Antisemitism Cases Dismissed by Activist Group – Over 1,000 Members Reported Since September 2016
(Thread)
1/11
The Labour Party claims there are only 70 (other reports have suggested 74) outstanding cases of antisemitism: that claim is either a lie or evidence of a reporting process that is totally unfit for purpose & an NEC that is failing.

Between September 2016 and June 2017 at least 750 members were reported to the compliance unit by members of Labour Against Antisemitism.
3/11
In May and June 2017 our members received emails from Compliance saying our reports were being refused. We were required to add information, such as CLP.
4/11
The added investigation demands immediately slowed down our report rate, and although we have continued to report we are experiencing a huge backlog that is increasing in size.
5/11
Since June 2017 when the reporting process became formalised (we started using a specific template following the emails from the compliance unit) Labour Against Antisemitism have reported a further 200 members to Compliance.
6/11
During this period we received emails from Compliance saying that some investigations could not be completed as many reported individuals were not party members.
These included prominent hard left activists, a sitting councillor & a CLP officer - all clearly party members.

In March 2018 David Collier’s report on Palestine Live was released. Following the revelations contained in that report, Labour said it would carry out a full investigation.

Within that group there were/are 104 Labour Party members, including Jeremy Corbyn, Clive Lewis MP and Chris Williamson MP. These figures have clearly not been included in the figure of 70 cases.
9/11
Labour Against Antisemitism offered to help the Labour Party with its investigation into Palestine Live, there was no response to our request. Nor has David Collier, the author of the report, been contacted by the Labour Party.
10/11
Labour Against Antisemitism has evidence of antisemitic activity from over 1,000 members still to report. The Labour leadership would be unwise to assume this issue will go away. We will never be bullied, & we will never be silenced.
