We said last fall that we’re building a new process to verify the identity and location of advertisers running election ads on FB. Today we are announcing three additional initiatives in our work to safeguard elections (1/4)

We are expanding our definition of a political ad to include not just ads that refer to the election, but also ads that discuss important political issues. (2/4)
All political ads will be searchable for 4 years in an archive which will include data about the price the advertiser paid, the number of impressions the ad received and the demographics of people who saw the ad (3/4)
We are also expanding our verification effort to include pages with large followings, even if they are not running ads. (4/4)
