A bill has been introduced in DC to lower the voting age. If passed, it would make DC the first place in the country to let 16-year-olds vote for president. fox5dc.com/news/local-new…
(Voting-age laws that have been passed in other jurisdictions apply only to local races. No such law has been passed at the state level yet.)
Since several people have asked, there's nothing in the constitution that prevents states (or DC) from lowering the voting age beyond 18. It's not a federal issue.
Here's the text of the 26th Amendment: "The right of citizens of the United States, who are eighteen years of age or older, to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of age."
Note that the 26th Amendment sets 18 as the ceiling for voting age restrictions, not the floor.
Per Oregon v. Mitchell, Congress has the power to set a minimum voting age for federal elections, but they haven't yet done so.
