I hijacked a bus today.

Well, sort of.

You probably think I'm kidding.... I'm not.
I went to Lake Eola for a bit today, but wasn't really feeling it - so I wandered off to some nearby parks.

I knew what time the last bus was. I knew where I had to be, and at what time.

So I was EARLY. Last bus and all, right?
Bus was supposed to leave the station downtown at 7:30 pm. I was on Orange Ave, waiting for it, at 7:10. A good twenty minutes before it was due to leave, and a few blocks away.

7:30 came and went. So did 7:45. And 8:00. It's been late before, but I suddenly realized....
NO buses had passed me. None. Normally there should be several.

So I checked the sign again - looks normal. Called customer service - closed.

At this point I'm starting to freak out a little... I'm exhausted, and just want to GO HOME.
I checked Lynx online - couldn't find any service changes.

So I hurried the five or six blocks to the bus station, and most of them are already gone. No supervisor - they said he went home.

So I ran and jumped on the last bus sitting there, and blocked the door.
Driver told me he was late, and he had been trying to reach dispatch for something else, which is why he was still there. He wanted to go, but I told him PEOPLE ARE STRANDED ALL ALONG ORANGE AVENUE. SOMEONE HAS TO DO SOMETHING.
He finally got off his bus, and went to find the supervisor. Came back with him, and this guy gave me some story about how the buses had been rerouted for the day.

Oh, but it's too much work to put a flyer on the bus stops downtown to let people know so they don't stranded.
So tell me, Lynx in Orlando Florida... if you care - how many people did you strand tonight?

What about the ones who didn't have someone to call, or cab fare to get home?

That is the WORST customer service I've ever seen in my life.
