A few points I'd make about this Q & the arrangement with the DNC writ large.
To Ryan's Qs:
1) HRC did the vast majority of the fundraising for HVF as the candidate atop the ticket.
2) The lists the DNC paid for were campaign lists, not lists created with HVF money.
More broadly, I think there are a few contextual things that get lost here.
1) The Clinton campaign had no outstanding debt. So the DNC was left shouldering no financial burden as a result of the campaign. Not the norm. There was debt from 2012 that the DNC helped pay off.
2) The reason for that was that HRC was steadfast in her efforts to make sure that win or lose, the party would be in a strong financial position. Not only did we not have campaign debt, but HVF raised enough so the DNC was left without debt too, for the 1st time in over 20 yrs.
3) The Clinton campaign turned over an unprecedented amount of info, from email lists to data to data tools. That was also a departure from the norm. I say this respectfully, simply as fact: Bernie's campaign didn't turn over anything. If they had, DNC could use it to raise $.
4) The $ the DNC is paying for campaign's lists is funds progressive orgs who are recruiting, training, & supporting candidates, especially women & people of color, in races across the US. Chairman Perez came & spoke at @OnwardTogether's annual meeting on Monday. Same team.
Ultimately, people can have disagreements about best allocation of resources, but as a candidate Hillary Clinton fought to ensure those resources existed, & worked her butt off to raise money. Here's more about the great work @OnwardTogether is doing:
