I detest the "Bitcoin Cash Is Bitcoin" and "BTC is Bitcoin Core" narrative.
However, today I was introducing someone to Bitcoin and ran into a strong wall of cognitive dissonance when I HAD to use BCH.
I was touring a Bitcoin mining facility and the security guard asked me what Bitcoin was.
As I usually do, I said "grab your phone and I'll send you some."
She was keen, but there was one problem...
I've previously been sent BCH to my cell via @vinarmani's @CoinText app by friends trying to convert me to team Bcash.
So reluctantly, I texted her $10 worth of BCH and she got it instantly.
It senses local currency and denominates appropriately. Kudos to Vin & team for that.
Even though this user had an easy onboarding experience, I feel cointext is poor opsec & teaches bad habits, but its a great marketing tool.
Why hasn't anyone built a widely used app like cointext for BTC user onboarding?
