With SCOOP by @JoshMeyerDC ("Ukrainian politician behind controversial peace proposal to appear in Mueller probe") some key points to add:

1. Same politician said his discussions with Cohen and Sater began DURING 2016 election—not after.

2. If discussions of back channel Ukraine plan began "at the time of the primaries," as Artemenko said—that could be VERY important to any QUID PRO QUO analysis.

Think about it: a Russia-friendly plan for Ukraine and lifting sanctions proposed to Michael Cohen in 2016.
3. It is a misnomer to call the back channel proposal a "peace plan"—should at least put those terms in scare quotes.

The proposal included unwinding Russian sanctions on terms favorable to Moscow, and the use of _derogatory_information_ against the current Ukrainian leadership.
4. Artemenko's statement (to a Ukrainian news outlet) that his discussions with Cohen and Sater began "at the time of the primaries" is thanks to a Scoop by @TPM @joshtpm back in Feb 2017: talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/there-s…
5. Breaking news tonight is that Artemenko is scheduled to appear before the grand jury on Friday—giving special counsel Mueller ample opportunity to get to the bottom of this.
