This whole tweetstorm is worth reading. Lots of wisdom here but this is the point that's most interesting. Bitcoin has also massively broadened the space of possible careers.
Interestingly enough, both *reduce" the scale necessary to make things profitable.
You don't need to "go big or go home" anymore. You can do niche businesses that are very focused and appeal to only a thousand people around the world.
The internet makes selling to your specific audience possible. You can target them not only with ads, but with content and actually interact with the micro community.
Under a fiat system, capital flows toward only the giant stuff. 1000x return possibilities. The unicorns.
When you have sound money capital starts flowing toward less risky stuff because people are less willing to lend.
You may not get 1000x returns but you'll also not fail 90% of the time. Instead of extreme outcomes only, you have more moderate outcomes.
This leads to smaller businesses that serve smaller communities better. That means the cookie cutter jobs don't really apply anymore.
Instead, there come whole host of ways to make money that didn't exist before. The whole concept of career becomes antiquated.
The result is more fluidity of what people do and what they can do. In other words, you can find better and better fits for who you are that make money.
This doesn't come for free, of course. You have to be willing to take more risk and that requires courage.
You have to be willing to find opportunities and that means paying attention.
You have to be willing to adjust and that means being willing to listen.
Ultimately, this is the more natural state of human beings than a soul sucking 9-5 rent seeking job. /fin
