Most children held in the Shenandoah facility who were the focus of the abuse lawsuit were caught crossing the border illegally alone. They were not the children who have been separated from their families under the Trump administration’s recent policy /2

Many of the children sent to the facility were accused of being MS-13 gang members, but a top manager said they did not appear to be gang members and instead were suffering from mental health issues due to trauma that happened in their home countries /3

Under Predictive Policing Hot Spot analysis police personnel will analyze & predict geographical areas of increased crime on basis of crime data. It will process all patterns relating to time of occurrence, exact locations, even shops, hotels, bars or other establishments.
Detectives will study social & infrastructural environment of a location & its local demography. Analysis will also be made of such things as local weather conditions, days on which offences are committed, whether it was around pay-day etc. But how they know its your pay-day? :)

THREAD: As an asylee and former detainee at a private prison contracted by ICE, this story is not shocking to me. In my time in ICE detention, I witnessed multiple instances of sexual harassment and heard stories of abuse and assault from fellow detainees.

Despite the fact that people detained for immigration violations are "civil" detainees, and not criminal ones, the treatment you receive in these detention facilities is just like any prison. They come complete with lock up times, yard times and even punitive solitary confinement
