#ThursdayThoughts More of a rant. Because I'm so tired of being lied to. @realDonaldTrump s "immigrant crisis" is manufactured. Per Homeland Security, illegal immigration has dropped nearly ninety per cent since the 70s. #FamiliesBelongTogether 
The @realDonaldTrump administration's own study showed that refugees brought in $63 million more than they cost over the past ten years. Therefore, the administration rejected it. tinyurl.com/ycxl5o2j
We're also hearing that immigrants are criminals and murderers, that those who favor due process and compassion are soft on crime. The data is mixed, but, most evidence shows that immigrants are less likely to commit crime than native-born. nytimes.com/2017/01/26/us/…
Some say that since illegal immigrants broke the law, they deserve to be jailed. A first-time illegal border crossing is a federal misdemeanor, punishable by time served and a fine. Other Federal misdemeanors that could be enforced with zero tolerance (thanks, @TeenVogue ):
1. Trespassing on national forest lands
2. Improper use of Smokey the Bear likeness
3. Buying fireworks
4. Possession of marijuana
5. Mailing dentures (yep)
6. Cutting down a Christmas tree in a national forest, w/o a permit

So, the fake 'immigration crisis' is an excuse for this administration to keep out those who are, in their view, the wrong sorts of people. They don't acknowledge that most of us have been the "wrong sort of people" to somebody. I'm just glad my people were lucky enough to get in
