We are not told, for example, about how CERD, the UN treaty body on racism, has never once addressed the virulent and murderous incitement to antisemitism rampant in Arab and Muslim countries.
When this body of UN racism experts reviewed France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Sweden & Turkey, they rarely if ever addressed the scourge of antisemitism, including deadly attacks against Jewish schools and synagogues.
We are not told how @UNHumanRights Commissioner Zeid engages in what scholar Deborah Lipstadt has called softcore Holocaust denial, in his statements that de-Judaize the Holocaust; nor that his predecessor Navi Pillay attacked Jewish NGOs for fighting Durban II antisemitism.
We're not told how the @UN_HRC's monitors on racism and religious freedom have over the past decade, with some limited exceptions, virtually ignored anti-Jewish racism that has included deadly attacks.
We are told, instead, that Nikki Haley should "build on the work of her predecessors" and "previous administrations"—presumably the last one which ended by helping the UN to effectively criminalize Jews for being faithful to their religion's ancient holy sites in Jerusalem.
I am inclined to agree with the authors' praise of the new UN chief, but I am disappointed by their odd refusal to applaud Nikki Haley for being one of modern history's most effective advocates for the equal rights of the Jewish people, and against UN anti-Israeli bigotry.
Bizarre that oped supposedly on UN hostility to Jews fails to call for end to:
1. UN General Assembly condemning Israel 20x a year—compared to 6x on rest of the world combined.
2. UN rights council targets Israel alone in permanent agenda item.
3. Antisemitic UN officials.
