.@FERC has a lot to be proud of in the 11 months since a quorum was re-established in August 2017.

Among the most significant achievements is the approval of a number of major #natgas #pipeline projects & BILLIONS of cf/d of new capacity. Many of those projects had been waiting for an exceptionally long time.

But there are some areas where we can & should do better — specifically, our review of #LNG export terminal applications. We need more resources!

.@FERC has issued ZERO authorizations for new #LNG export terminals since quorum was lost in early 2017.

Currently 13 applications are pending @FERC, representing more than 23Bcf/d of export capacity. Several more in pre-filing. Some applications date as far back as 2015.

#Naturalgas export projects create 1,000s of jobs across #US.

But it’s more than just jobs — #LNG exports to our allies are critical for #US geopolitical interests.

.@FERC’s world-class staff is burning the midnight oil reviewing those applications. But @FERC staff also has to oversee existing #LNG export terminals. They’re stretched to the max!

Simply put, @FERC needs more staff — especially engineering & legal staff — to deal w/ current & future workload on #LNG export terminals.

Congress & Administration would support providing us w/ more resources. Look forward to working w/ Chairman @McIntyreFERC to express specific needs to #Congress.
