We are not shackled to the EU. We chose to join it’s predecessor in the ‘70s because our economy was so awful. We can chose to leave also because there are no shackles. But what we have found is that this decision is a disaster for our current & future prosperity.
How do we stand now after the decision to leave? Our economy is 2% less in 2018 than it likely would have been if we had voted to remain. Investment has tanked. Approx 100K jobs have left/are leaving. Employers (automotive, aviation) tell us of impending job losses in the UK.
What to do? If you firmly believe that the ref was free & fair and suffered from no foreign interference or fraud, if massive unemployment & further austerity is a price worth paying, if the likely break up of our United Kingdom is water off a duck’s back, then we should leave.
If however you would like to think again, review the deal on offer, compare it to staying in the EU and see if the price of leaving is worth it to you, your family, friends and neighbours then we should have a #peoplesvote .
