1. Okay remember that peak oil narrative for years? Remember the narratives of China eclipsing the USA economy pushed for the last decade or two? Yeah see these are examples of the media having their head up their ass.
2. It's the process of thinking inside the box. It's taking the current environment and extrapolating for years/decades into the future thinking everything is going to remain the same. It fails to factor in human nature, invention and action of free societies.
3. For instance peak oil went belly up due to several things; fracking, opening up lands for drilling, reducing energy usage, hybrids cars,etc. None of which could have been seen at the time but anyone could have seen that humans were not just going to sit around and do nothing.
4. The same process could be seen for China overtaking the USA. No one could have seen Trump coming on the stage but anyone could figure out the free USA citizens were just not going to sit around and allow China to rule our country without a fight.
5. So now you have a trade war kicking off, a slowing economy for China while a booming economy for the USA which means that instead of China overtaking our economy the USA's economy is now pulling away and increasing its lead.
6. So please when you read fear mongering/gaslighting narratives on things like climate change, population demographics, debt failures, government spending etc...just remember all the doom and gloom assumes nothing changes and everything continues as is forever.
7. It is crazy to think that way in a free society. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Humans are interactive with their environment. They see things and react. They don't sit around and await their doom. They start to think outside the box to fix the problem.
8. The more pressing the problem the more they react. Can we at some point fail to solve the problems in time? Sure but as long as we as a society have the freedom to think and react most problems will be solved.
9. Only in closed top heavy controlled societies are problems not solved often because the people are not free to think outside the box. Their establishment is set up to control the ideas of their people to retain power. This leaves them in a very bad place when problems pop up.
