Some people think it is a true story and there are even purported archeological artifacts supporting the unlikely claim. But it's a 2000-year old myth influenced prolly by the dissemination of Buddhism to Korea and most people don't believe it

For one this union of King Suro of ancient Gaya kingdom and this Princess from Ayuta started an entire branch of the Kims in Korea that is the single largest branch: if true, 5% of the SK population descended from this purported Indian-Korean intermarriage

But if you knew the birth circumstances of King Suro who started it all, you'll see how preposterous the story is. He crawled out of an egg (UFO?) that landed from the sky: this is the Oriental version of "immaculate conception" that recurs in umpteen Eurasian myths. End of story

As we mentioned, this story is pure hokum and about as likely as Jesus visiting India. But isn't it harmless even if untrue? Moon's trying to promote Indian-SK relations. Here is the purported grave of the Indian Princess who became Queen of Gaya in 48 AD
If you think promoting pseudo-history is harmless, need to look at NK. One reason it can't pursue reform is becuz it's trapped in lies. Plus there are worries that the story is being used by Hindu nationalists. But good for Samsung that has a factory there
