The Trump Administration wants Congress to approve the sale of Precision-Guided Munitions (PGMs) to the Saudis and UAE. @SenatorMenendez is trying to block the sale. @ChrisMurphyCT, too. But “pragmatists” in both parties want to sell these bombs to them. 2/
One former DOD official told me, “The truth is, if we don’t sell them these smart bombs, more civilians will die...We should sell them the weapons but put conditions on their use.” Baloney. 3/
The Saudis and UAE aren’t killing civilians by accident. They are aiming at them. Look at the details of this latest attack. They targeted a fish market, then 30 minutes later, the hospital where the victims had been taken, reports @nytimes 4/
“On Thursday afternoon, however, the Arab coalition’s aerial forces were pounding several neighborhoods of Al Hudaydah, according to residents and ails workers. Shortly after 4 p.m., bombs hit the city’s crowded fish market, about 200 yards from Al Thawrah Public Hospital.” 5/
“Medics rushed to the scene trying to save lives, but then about 30 minutes later another strike rocked the street in front of the hospital, where the wounded had been transported from the market.” 6/
“By nightfall, medics reported that at least 30 people had been killed and that dozens were in critical condition. Sanitation workers tried to clean the targeted areas of blood and body parts.” 7/
