1. Welcome to the new nuclear arms race. Putin announces 4 new nuclear weapons to answer the 3 new nuclear weapons US announced last month. This will not end well.
2. In his speech he show graphics (very Star Wars) of new, multi-warhead ICBM that flies over the South Pole. Why South? Our anti-missile radars and interceptors are in the north.
3. He brags about a new long-range cruise missile powered by a small nuclear reactor that can fly “indefinitely.” Again, cannot be intercepted by defense systems, he boasts.
4. He show off cartoon graphics of a new hyper-glide vehicle that weaves around defense radars on way to its target. Again, unstoppable.
5. Finally, Putin has the long-range, underwater drone (torpedo) equipped with a huge nuclear warhead that would unleash a radioactive tsunami on coastal cities. We wouldn’t see it until it exploded.
6. Do any of these work? Do they even exist? They are all in some stage of development. The time to stop them is now. The time for new talks is now. Once US & Russian system go into production, very hard to cancel.
